I am building a new, larger run/yard off of the chicken coop and am about half way through the process now. The new yard will be 30ft x 10ft, will this be big enough for approximately 30 birds? They wont be locked in all the time since we have a huge yard and pasture for them to run around in, but i want them to be comfortable. Their new coop is 9ft x 10ft and from what i have read online that should be big enough for the coop?
The top 4ft is chicken wire and the bottom 3ft is cedar fencing. I plan on skirting the yard because we have racoons... maybe even adding a hot wire at the top of the cedar fencing depending on how bad things are this year.
