New runner duck Mom!

Welcome to Backyard chickens. I don't have any ducks but, think they are adorable.
I'm sure this is a dumb question but, are runner ducks able to fly at all? I wondered, in case of predators, if they have any escape mechanism?

No they can fly...but we have a super sercure coop and pen and I don’t let them
Out unless I’m with them
