as some of you have heard and seen we brought home 3 new runners that were all supposed to be hens, 2 fawn and white and a white. since they started to acclimate the fawn and white pair seem to be " doing the deed" I feel quite confident at at least 2 of them being female based on voice, the other has remained quite quiet however.. I assumed that was just how it was as it was the same size as the other 2 but now I am not so sure. do females ever do this to each other? have I got confused ducks or did I get me a drake? one of the 2 fawn and white was alleged to have gone broody this spring and hatched 17 ducklings...am I about to have another hatch? this has happened a couple of times over the last couple days. sorry, no X rated photography for demonstration purposes.
Miss Piggy is a little bigger and more dominate of the two Mallard hens maybe this is why? But then again I am no expert. I have see cattle do the same thing, A cow will try to jump up and ride another cow, same thing with steers.
Not sure if that has anything to do with laying eggs or not.
Differently a question for the experts !
