I mean I don't think it has to explode for bacteria to start growing on/from the bad egg. But yes I candle after day 3 I put them in to see if the embryo is developing, then again about a week later to see if they are still developing, I also check before lock down but again I have Easter Eggers... The olive eggs are hard to candle, so sometimes I can't tell with those.Yes, that's accurate, but in all of my hatching, I have never once had that happen nor heard of it happening. I candle before I put them in lockdown, so at that point, the eggs going into lockdown are all viable. It would take more than a few days for it to rot to the point of explosion.
