New Serama Rooster- Sounds Congested...Should I Cull ASAP or...what?

Cocci I can't get rid of. I bleach every fee days. It's a matter of my chicks building up an immunity of sorts to it. Where I live cocci is troublesome regardless what you do.

but I bleach 3 times a week everything in the brooder and that's what has worked for me. Nobody has been sick since (but the shrimpy EE mix)

I sent her an email but she lives 8 hours away. XD I am not going to be quick to judge that she intentionally gave us a sick bird. She was frank and very nice when I spoke. Packed the birds excellent for the ride fir my husband. She had plastic containers with that electrolyte gloopy stuff and orange slices in the box with the roo and the box with the chicks. And I did all dealing over the phone. My husband didn't even look at the birds. I actuall asked him how did he know she didn't sell him empty boxes?? But she sold us 5 chicks and the rooster and I only asked for four chicks. She gave us an extra. And she let me have the roo for free because of her daughters ill attempts at catching him and she was embarrassed about selling a bird with no tail. Lol. So I got the six for $20 and anyone who deals with seramas knows that is a bargain. I was supposed to pay $35 + considering the extra chick.

Breeder got back with me. Said the bird wasn't sick when she boxed it up. She was suggesting the sane things you guys gave have been suggesting. But I am still wondering..,

If I keep him alive he may infect future birds and I don't want to sell birds to people either and have to put a footnote that oh by the way the dad rooster has CRD.

or if I keep him separate his whole life then I will worry if I touch him then another too soon or if I washed well enough.

I asked my grandma if she wanted him. She loves seramas and doesn't have any chickens but was not keen on the idea so I am leaning on the culling idea.

I can truely emphasize with you right now. I went thru this with my roo [who has CRD] He does live with all the other gremlins and I bring him in the house when the temps get colder than 60 degrees.......

Maybe first try to find a home for him where the person only wants a cute indoor/outdoor pet. try Craigslist maybe??
