My older chicks are 13 weeks, and finally after several weeks my peafowl building is done. It will double later as a greenhouse and garden shed with doors on three sides. I put in some of the bedding type they had in their brooders. I know many have them on wire, but that was not an option for me and I opted for earlier Toltrazil preventative treatments. There will be a large run in front but no need for it at the moment as the 8x10 building is plenty.

Btw, mirrors still are a godsend for stressed peafowl. They really need their flock when you only have a few.

I'd never seen an extended autofill cup like you have in the 2nd picture! Really smart idea for getting it through the grating.
I like the RAC (rent a coop) brand a lot. Every time I try to go cheaper I regret it. That is from their DIY series. I will actually replace it today for the RAC larger auto fill cups and set up that attaches to a hose (this was the system I had in their brooder) so it can go back for the second set of chicks I have when they graduate to the intermediate brooder.

Oh good point I should finish my profile at some point here. I am in Central Texas where I have to protect them more from the summer heat than the winter cold. A sproven by our local wild turkeys hiding in the shadows this week.

The meshed panels have greenhouse panels to go over them later I have easily kept plants well above freezing in a unheated greenhouse in the winters and I know the bird are far more cold tolerant than that, but have heaters on hand if needed.
