New silkie babies! Posting to keep track of their development

Week 7! They’re going through that awkward stage I’m pretty sure our white frizzle is a roo now the other two I have no idea!

I seem to be losing track of days now they are 8.5 weeks old. Super sweet babies that love to snuggle and chat I keep looking for saddle feather pin feathers but nothing yet.

9 weeks. Our splash appears to be developing waddles and a more pronounced comb. Definitely leaning towards roo.

White and grey silkie frizzle: well, he/she is super cute and always wants to be snuggled. He/she has a beautiful round crest I’m really hoping pullet but still not sure.

Lastly, our little black goof who nearly died at hatch is super sweet. I have no idea if it’s a pullet or a roo, but I sure do love that face

We got our feather DNA results back a couple weeks ago. The splash was definitely a roo. Little Georgie is now living with an amazing family in Edmonton. The two frizzles are both hens Puddin’ (black) and Fern (white) are now 17 weeks old. They are the sweetest little ladies. They’d rather be sitting on my lap than roaming the yard. They are just starting to make big girl noises and less baby peeps.

They are so beautiful and sweet! I did the DNA testing on mine as well, nice to have that peace of mind before rehoming them!

These were the final outcome of our two frizzle chicks Sadly our Fern (white) had a heart attack a few weeks back. Puddin’ is still doing great. We’ve just acquire a few more chicks to hopefully grow our little silkie flock.

I ordered free collection kits through health gene. The tests were roughly $17.00 each.

Thanks for the update! So sorry to hear about Fern passing away. Same thing happened to my English Orpington about a month ago. Sudden and unexpected. Congratulations on your new babies! Would love to see photos!
