*LOL* I agree!!

He's a handsome boy... seeing that color on a Silkie always reminds me of chinchillas.... I think if I ever get to own a Silkie I will name her this!

LOL.

Well I wanted to name him Michael Jackson, since he didn't know if he was black or white, husband says "Obama," so (after remembering another post on this board) I said "Bwock Obama."

And since Oprah is openly rooting for Obama this time, it still fits!

Except my Oprah, upon seeing Bwock, put her head against his side and when he didn't do anything decided she is going to pull at his feathers if he gets near her!

Also, my mom has a dog that looks like him (think Sprocket from Fraggle Rock, but minature) and I think I'm going to have to photograph them in studio together. Would be funny!

I received 10 Silkes chicks 3 weeks ago. Have found homes for 7 and am keeping 3. Oh how sweet they are. I got my first chicken when my husband brought "Peepers" ( a black cochin) to me in April 2007. I had never had chickens and didn't know what to expect. I raised her like one of my dogs, and so she thought she was a dog. When we would go camping, she rode on the console of our SUV. She learned to come through the doggie door to the basement during the day while we were at work. She would run and meet me every day when I pulled in my Garage. I never thought I would ever love a chicken so much. Unfortunately, she got into some poison in August and died. It must have been at a neighbors because we would never have any poison at our house. I was devastated and understood why my Granny loved her chickens so much.
I had to have more, so now I have the new Silkie chicks. I already love the three I am going to keep. Again, I am treating them like I do my dogs. They will get to stay in our basement in their coop at night. I am now trying to get them to go in the coop now. Wish Me Luck.

I have four silkies, and I love them, the grandchildren have them in the house, washed and colored with food coloring,,,which washes right off, once they are returned to the pen. They are so friendly, and fun to have around the children....

Thanks!

I'm so excited, we are doing a model shoot in about a week or two and he is going to be a prop in a shot (the girl is going to have black and silver and perhaps feathers on her face!)

I think they are ugly.

There is nothing like the Showgirls. My wife made fun of me because I wanted to sleep with the Showgirls when they where incubating. What she did not know was it was because she snores to loud. That was the only way I could get a good nights sleep. A man has to do what a man has to do!!!!! She still loves me. But the Showgirls are a lot sexier. Just kidding HeHe!!!!
