New Silkie

I am thinking about introducing a new silkie to my existing Margo and Ruby. What is the best way to introduce a new chicken to the other existing two. I understand there may be a bit of fighting but how do I reduce this to a minimum so that my girlies all get along together.

Get one of same or similar age. Quarantine any new chicken for 30 days to rule out illness. After quarantine and clean then put close but no touch in separate housing or crate to other girls. Then may incorporate in play yard together if let out to run. If doing ok then ok to put in with girls.

It's probably best to do one of those quarantine methods that everyone says to use, But i just dump them in there and stay out there for about 30 minuets to make sure everythings fine, But of course you'll need a large open space to do that.

I introduce as they free range. A look no touch pen works. It's always easier to introduce two than a single Chicken. Unless you practice a total Bio security quarantine it's not necessary to keep them separated.
