well i dont have nest boxes for my silkies i let them make theyre own in the heaping pile of woodchips in theyre coops

Ok that does sound like an idea

Right now they are chicks ages 4 weeks and 6 weeks. So they are inside till I get the brace off my hand so I can work on the coop for my bantam birds.

If anyone can tell me for sure what sex they are that would be nice to know. the guy told me that there was just one rooster and it was one of the little buffs and that the rest are pullets. He is going by how they are feathered out. Namely the feathers on the top of their heads.

well they are a little young to tell for sure. silkies are especially hard to sex at a young age.

I agree. It would be very unusual to only have one boy out of five Silkie chicks.

3 are 4 week old buffs and then there is a white and a black 6 week olds so they are from different hatches
