I've never had them but I've been told repeatedly that ducks are very creative poopers, they can paint the walls even the ceiling without leaving the ground. They love water and making messes with it everywhere.

I think you will really enjoy chickens.

They would poop and just walk I. Their pool and go in their pool and get the poop in the water. But, they wanted the water to be clean, so, I found myself emptying out the pool and refilling it daily. I would spray off the grass, because the mess they left was so stinky and gross. I had huge puddles from multiple times a day spraying the poop. I ended up selling them. But, they were so cute to watch!!

Chickens are much better than ducks, in my experiences. Are you getting chicks, pullets, or adult hens to start with? And do you have an idea what breed?

Welcome!!! While I love them both, chickens are much less messy than ducks for sure!
