New to this and still not sure what we have gotten into. How long do we have before we have to have the coop done? Are birds are now 3weeks old (we think). Hubby just started on the coop, but with all the rain, it is going painfully slow. We have 25 pullets.
Any help would be greatly appreciated on how to do this. I have already found out that it is addictive. My 2 boys have to tell their girls goodnight every night.

Get the coop done as soon as possible. We were in the same boat as y'all, lots of rain and illness that kept us from working on the coop. Believe me, it's no fun having 5 month old chickens living on your screened porch.

Anything you keep the girls in that they have room, warmth, predator safety, should be fine until the coop is ready. They have to be kept warm. The general rule of thumb is 95 for 1st week, 90 the second, etc. dropped 5 degrees ea. week. If you are in colder climate, they will need heat until they are older. Enjoy! Chickens are alot of fun.
