I have had ten baby chicks in a brooder for about 2 1/2 weeks. They are getting so big and are so active and fun! I let them out into the yard every couple of days to let them stretch out. I'm looking for a couple of silkie bantams in the Houston area to add to my flock.

I'm nearly finished building the coop. They're so spoiled. I gave them two stories and doubled the space. My family and I have had an absolute blast bringing these baby birds into our lives.

I'm happy to be here.

I guess all that's left to say is, HI!!!

Welcome!!

Sounds like you are going to fit right in with the rest of us chicken Mommies & Daddies! The people on this site are just great. It's loads of fun, plus it's really therapeutic to share your chicken-life with others who actually understand

Thanks y'all!

It certainly has been fun so far! I can't believe how big they're getting so quickly!

So far, I have 1 Salmon Favorelle, 1 Speckled Sussex, 3 special color Ameraucanas, 1 Silver laced Wyandotte, 1 Gold Laced Wyandotte, 2 Barred Rocks, and 1 Cinnamon Queen. I reallyreallyreallyreallyreally want a couple of silkies to add just because I've heard they're so friendly. But then, I think all of the breeds that I picked are friendly and good layers. :)

Welcome to BYC!

So glad you are enjoying your new chicks! You might want to connect with your chicken neighbors in your state thread in hopes of possibly finding some Silkies locally....
