New to BYC and a New Chickie Momma

Hello,

I am new to BYC and new to having chickens. I have always enjoyed birds and after my last indoor bird passed, my darling husband said "no more birds"! So I skirted the new rule and got myself 8 new little girls of the outdoor bird variety. Heehee. He's ok with them and building them a lovely coop. I mean who can resist this cuteness?

I have acquired 4 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Barred Rock and 2 Aracaunas. I am totally in love with these little girls!! They make me laugh so much!


Before I got the girls and every day since, so about two weeks, I have been lurking the forums and articles here to get any bit of info that I have been able to find. I thank all of you for posting so much info as it helped me so much and definitely helped me make my decision to get the ones that I got. I swear that every question I googled took me to this site. I look forward to learning so much here as I raise my little flock.

Hello & welcome!! You will find tons of info. and interesting chat here. As you have no doubt discovered we are all obsessed with birds.....there is no cure for this disease - so embrace it!
