as i'm not to sure which breeds are the best for beginners? Really would like some help please.

Hello, and :welcome

Sex links are quite easy to raise. They are great layers, and we have pretty much left the chickens outside to their own devices for years now, just feeding every morning. However, if you've got predators in your area you need a coop with a roof.

There are also other things it depends on, how hot or cold it is where you live, things like that. You could post a thread in one of the other sections, maybe raising chicks, to get more responses.

Anyway, I hope you find what you need on the forum! There are plenty of people who can help you out, whatever breed you choose to get. ;)

Welcome to BYC!! Another thing to consider is what you're going to do with them.Do you want the eggs? what color eggs? how many eggs? selling? Do you want to take them to shows? Want plumage? wattles? You can find alot of answers here at this site.

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan

Google the Henderson Chicken Chart, it is very helpful when researching breeds. Consider what you want chickens for - primarily eggs? Eggs with interesting or unusual appearance? Most friendly?
