I joined this site because I saw how useful the information it contains and how helpful the members are! Seems like a great place, glad I found it.
My wife and I are raising 2 small boys and we go through lots of eggs, and always loved the fresh ones from my parents' neighbor who raises chickens. Our boys love animals and figured it would be great to help teach the how to respect and care for animals, plus get delicious fresh eggs for feeding our family.
We are in the suburbs around New York city and are going to be redoing our backyard so the timing will be perfect to add a coop. I actually am interested in adding a Shed/Coop combination so I can store garden tools, lawn mower etc in one side and have the chicken coop on the other side. I am sure we will be back with loads of questions so thanks in advance for providing answers/tips to us!
