I'm just starting out with quail and soon to move onto chickens here in Colorado. Did not have such good results with my first hatch of quail, but I believe I know what I didn't do correctly. I'll make changes to my process for the next go around.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Completely new. Don't have them yet, but will apply for a permit soon and start hatching later this year.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Zero.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have two breeds of quail right now. Manchurian Black and Chocolate and bob white.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Hatching
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Anything outdoors, spending time with my family.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Two boys, wife, dog. We fish and hunt a bit, and just enjoy being outside.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
