Purchased a modest little home with a couple acres and am dying to have a handful of chickens this spring or next, a goat or two and maybe some rabbits. If my daughter and son in law have it their way I will undoubtedly end up with mini horses and those mini piglet things lol but anyhow nah I am really not trying to do all that. So far BYC has been a huge help informing me of a lot that I need to know BEFORE I take it all on. I did start on my coop today and am repurposing pallets for the job.. wish me luck!

WELCOME!!!!

From NC to AZ? Wow, what a change..in so many ways! Hope you enjoy your new place..jealous you have so much land for so many different types of animals. :)

Welcome to BYC. Loads of folks use pallets to fashion a coop. If you put "Pallet coops," in the search box, you may get to see what others have done with them.

Welcome!

“Wish me luck!” .. I do wish you luck and hope that you keep us updated with your progress.

I also hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends

Best of luck with your coop build! And don't let anyone talk you into biting off more than you can chew (relatives are always quick to make suggestions, lol)!

! Great to have you in our flock! You are wise to do the research prior to jumping in with both feet - it can help avoid frustration and heartache down the road. CTKen gave you some great links so I'll just say best wishes and thanks for joining BYC!!
