I think that the lighter eggs are from the Sussex, as I've heard that Sussex lay cream colored or lighter brown eggs.

I suspected as much with my first guess. Given that info I think it's likely that the darker eggs are the Sussex eggs and the lighter eggs are the Orpington eggs. However, I could definitely be wrong. As I stated there I've seen a various range of browns from both breeds, and the division of guesses on your eggs is evidence of that. )
