Hi!
My name is Elisabeth. I live in TX, and I and my family love raising chickens!
We have many friends who live in the country and want chickens, but don't have the time to devote to caring for tiny chicks! So I enjoy raising their new babies until they are old enough to stay outside without heat. We haven't kept chickens long-term ourselves, due to living in a neighborhood.
We just got a dozen babies today; 6 Americanas/Araucanas, and 6 silver-laced Wyandottes. All seem very lively, playful and HUNGRY! I'm so glad that through all the batches of chicks we've raised, we haven't lost any at all!
We also bought two Bantam chicks; one is an Araucana, and I'm not sure what the other one is. The Araucana seems to be failing, although that problem is for a different section of the forum!
I look forward to posting with you all!
