Hi! New to BYC and new to having chickens in general. Just purchased a small prefabricated coop and run from tractor supply. I have 4 chickens (2 R.I. Reds and 2 Ameraucanas). My son was interested in having chickens so here I am. I’d like to build a DIY chicken coop/run to have more chickens. I have had mine for a week and so far it’s great. They are 4 months old. Looking to learn as much as I can from this group. Thanks!

Welcome! I have a prefab inside of a 6x10 dog run with a nicely built cover (like a carport). I absolutely love the setup. The pullets roost in the prefab. Then they are free to the backyard during the day. If you think this is something to consider try looking for a dog run that someone in your area is selling used.
p.s. the run is also on a cement slab.
