I had bantams years ago before I had children. I now have a 3 & a 4 year old. So decided to get some hens (2 RR, 2 Doms?, 1 black?) and 1 unknown specie rooster (which seems to doing his job) for the kids to collect eggs. They love it! Now Ive shown the kids Chics hatching on YouTube and they really got excited! I would like to buy or build an (inexpensive) incubator with windows so when the babies hatch the children can watch. I do work full time so I can't turn the eggs as needed. My question is "what is the least exspensive and best solution to meet my needs"? Also anyone in north Alabama or close to the al/TN state line interested in selling/trading birds and or accessories please message me.
thanks

Here is a page on all sorts of homemade incubators, candlers, brooders, etc...that you might want to take a look at...

And you also might like to chat with others in your state that could possibly make some deals with you...

Great to have you aboard and enjoy all your poultry adventures!

Hello and Welcome To BYC! TwoCrows gave you some good links to get you started. Also check out the BYC Buy-Sell-Trade Everything Else forum for supplies sometimes there are incubators on that. If you are looking for new, this time of year most feed stores will have chick days and be selling relatively inexpensive incubators, and double check when they have closeouts at the end of their chick days.

Thank u ail for the welcome. I bought an incubator today and 6 more chics. My neighbor is going to give me 24 eggs for the incubator. I usually only get about 3 to 4 eggs a day off of my 5 hens. So my neighbor will help me fill my incubator by Monday with 41 eggs wish me luck. Ill post my results in 3 weeks or so.

Good luck with the hatch and new chicks! Sounds like chicken math has really struck!
