Hey all!

After watching my in-laws raising chickens for a number of years, my wife and I were finally in a position to take the plunge. I finished building our coop last week, and we picked up our chicks today. We're starting out with 5 Ameraucanas, 3 Silver Laced Wyandottes, and 2 Isa Browns. I'm looking forward to this adventure, and should probably give a shout-out to all the "silent help" this forum offered as I was building the coop, before I joined the site. Thanks to all the contributors on this site!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before joining.) You have a nice mix of breeds. Isa Browns are one of a number of labels under which some hatcheries market their Red Sex Links which are laying machines. You should get loads of eggs from those two girls. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your chicks.

So glad you joined the Backyard chickens flock...
