Grandpa feeder Mess

lm new quick question l have a feed o matic grandpa feeder, how do i stop my birds from raking the feed out onto the floor?

The only sure fire way I've found to stop that behavior with any feeder is to put the feeder where the birds cant get to it.

Someone with familiarity with that specific feeder might have better advice.
