Hello everyone, new member here. A little about me/my family:

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yesterday - 3/20/2020 - Self-isolating otherwise near Houston, TX

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

9, 1ish week old chicks

(3) What breeds do you have?

3 of each of the following breeds: Langshan, Black Marran, Leghorn

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

We are about to find out, but we are looking forward to the eggs

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

We enjoy our dogs and taking care of our pasture with a few cows

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

My husband and I are in our 20s with a toddler and infant. We are looking forward to the experience of owning chickens for eggs. I grew up competing in rodeo and 4H, on a small farm near Houston. My husband was an Eagle Scout but did not get much chance to have critters and a farming lifestyle living in Austin, TX.

Welcome to BYC! I cannot comment on the other chicks for I have no experience with the breed. But I did want to say, enjoy those Leghorns! I have a beautiful "Miss Opal" Hen (my favorite girl cant you tell? See picture lol ) that I raised from a chick, and she is the best. They are not a cuddle chicken, but you have some very large beautiful white eggs to look forward to in the future!
