Hello all!

I have a small flock of Bielefelders hoping to grow it to about 9 or 10 birds; still small but enough for my family. I've kept chickens for about 3 years now, before these I just had a small bunch of mixed birds and they were awesome, really liked them almost wish I hadn't given them away.
We keep chickens mainly for eggs, fun, and fertilizer for my garden. Chickens really have become a favorite past time of mine. Though these birds are umm well more work than the mix I had before.
Any who all I got time for now...
I look forward to sharing more and learning more from some of you!

Thanks! Yea I've been reading this site for years even before I got chickens. BYC was were I'd come for information and research.
Lots of good and logic minded people here for sure!
I do wish I had read about Bielefelders not doing well in heat before i got into them though...found that out this past summer. They sounded more like a flock of ducks not chickens!

Welcome!

As you have already received some links to great starting points, I will just wish you all the best.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I'm hoping to breed my birds soon. I've read as much stuff as can be found here and elsewhere. My incubator is being built right now by my brother who raises game birds. I'm expecting many failures while ironing out the process, so any nuggets of wisdom are very welcome!

I'm also building a new coop from scratch, the one I have right now is a converted shipping crate I nabbed from work. I'm building it with room for chicken expansion and attempting to make it cooler for these hot birds of mine, so again any advice or tips are welcome!

Well gotta split...helping my dad find his coolant leak on his truck...
