(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I started with 5 about a year and an half ago. They kept the spiders out of my pool. We moved from suburbs .55 acres to country 15 acres. I still have them, Edna is my favorite. She had a left sided deficit and took a little bit of work to get her almost normal. Now I have 24 three month olds, and hatched 14 Edna babies.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 44 for now.
(3) What breeds do you have? Three Rhode Island Reds, a few mixed breads, most are Asian Blues and all the Edna babies are Rhode Island Red and Asian Blue mix.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? I googled some issues I was having and it brought me to this site. The information helped
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Chickens are the gateway drug to farm life, now I have one and enjoy spending my time working it.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. Six cats, Two dogs, 16 guinea hens, cows and goats are on the way. I am an instructor.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Ran across it looking for some help about a year ago. I finally joined because my rooster, Rip (yes all my chickens have names), has a bum leg. Looking for advise how to fix it or if I should take him to the vet.
