Hey all!
I am new to the forum and new to raising my own chickens. Grew up on a farm, so I am familiar with raising them, but this is my first time having them as my own.
We currently have 8 straight run bantams. I’m thinking we have maybe 2 or 3 Roos and the rest hens. (Hopefully)
As far as breeds, I’m unsure. I think we have 1 RIR and 1 Silkie for sure. Maybe a Brahma.
Besides chickens, we also have 2 male pekin ducks we adopted from our neighbors as they could no longer care for them. The kids have dubbed them “John and Wick” haha. John is really sweet and Wick iso our alpha duck.
We are a large family with 4 boys (ages 13, 12 and 7/7. We also have 1 girl who is currently 15 months. I am a stay at home momma with 5 cats and run my own business from home. Husband is a robotic engineer.
Excited to be here and learn all there is about chicken raising! We are raising our chickens predominantly for eggs and maybe 4-H.
