Hello,
My name is Kristy and I am in San Jose, California. My husband David and I have 4 hens, they are two years old this month. This is our first time keeping chickens. Our chickens are all named according to their personalities: Thelma (of Thelma and Louise because she is a daredevil); Jane (Plain Jane as she WAS the most plain boring brown color); Lucille (After Lucille Ball the most gorgeous redhead); and Pippi (after Pippi Longstocking because she gets into nothing but mischief).
We enjoy the peace that we feel watching our chickens in their large run in our backyard and of course the eggs too.
Recently it appears that Pippi has developed Sour Crop. I have done extensive research online and stumbled across this site and it seemed to provide the most comprehensive and logical treatments so I am treating her now.
I look forward to being able to interact with others who share some of the same interests and have experiences they are willing to share.
