Hi all,
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I'm new to chickens. Last month, I finally did it. I ordered chicks. Just picked them up this week.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
4 baby chicks, hopefully all future hens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Ameracaunas, Welsummer and a Silver Laced Wyndotte.

I came across BYC about 3 years ago. During this time I've pondered chicks, ducks and quail. Chickens finally won. That said... I would still really like to have ducks in the future. Not that quail were a bad idea.. but I just kept thinking about blog posts and articles I read about them getting startled somehow, attempting to fly away frightened and breaking their poor little necks on the top of their enclosure. I originally had this silly idea of quail or ducks joining me in my greenhouse, happily foraging around. Alas... things were not meant to be.

That said, I'm looking forward to many chicken antics in the future.

Congratulations on getting your chicks, and fingers crossed that they are all girls!

I also started with four chickens -- that was many, many chickens ago -- then added runner ducks. Then, geese. It is a slippery slope once you fall in love with poultry. :)
