Cool cant wait to see the finished coop!!

Well I live in a residential area. I am going to keep my 'flock' small. I got the rooster from the animal welfare because he had been there so long.
I felt sorry for him & have been rewarded with an unusually gorgeous rooster.
What I do, is at sunset I take Rocky out of the big coop & pop him in a smaller cage in the garage. The pullets are there too at the moment, cos
theyre not ready for the big coop yet.
I leave Rocky in there (with food & water of course) until about 9am, when I think thats a decent time to experience a Rooster crowing. Im lucky
that I dont have to chase him around, he loves to be carried around LOL, so it is easy for me to grab him & take him into the garage, & of course,
I close the garage door so his crowing is muffled.
I used an old rabbit hutch for the chickens. The top floor for the pullets & the bottom for the rooster. It does the job well. Or u could get a pet carrier
(large dog size) & keep it in the garage or laundry? I put wood shavings in them.
If you want to keep all your roosters that would be the way to go. And you could always talk to ur neighbours (after you buy them hehe) & let them
know you have roosters & you will be putting them away for the night until a certain time in the morning & they may appreciate it???
Good luck ^^

Hello...I'm a "new egg" too. I've had chickens since I was a small girl...stopped for a few teenage and young adult yeears--started one Easter Morning when a hen came walking into my yard during an easter egg hunt...we called her Cluck-Cluck and I've been adopting unwanted chickens and all since.
