Hi all, my name is Chris and I am a new member here at BYC. Here is a bit about me:

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
New to chickens? Yes and no, I guess. My grandparents always had chickens when I was growing up and my parents had a few when I was younger also. However, my grandparents have passed on and my parents haven't had chickens in many years. This spring my wife and I decided to get a few chickens so our 6 year old daughter could watch them grow. The fresh eggs are nice to. So, no, I'm not really "new" to chickens but yes my family is.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We currently have 10 chickens. We have 5 standards and 5 Bantams.

(3) What breeds do you have?
Our standards are sex links. We have two white sex link pullets. Two red sex link pullets and a red sex link roo. Our Bantams are an Old English roo, a Wynadotte pullet, Japanese pullet, White Faced Black Spanish pullet and a White Laced Red Cornish pullet.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Google, of course.

(5) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am married with a six year old daughter. We have a small dog named Buddy, he is a Jack Russel - Fiest - Chihuahua mix, and three cats named Peper, Smoky, and Hobbs. Next spring we plan on adding a few more chickens to our flock. We are particularily interested in adding a few silkies and some more Japanese Bantams to the Bantam flock. We will be adding to the standard flock, as well but we haven't decided on breeds as of yet.

Hi and :welcome

Glad to have you here!
Buff orpingtons are a nice breed, for standard flocks. They're pretty popular.
We have sex links too. Yeah, the eggs are very nice. :D

I hope you find all the info you need here, and enjoy the site!
