I've had RIR's and Barred Rocks; love them both.They are all good, hardy breeds, they should do well for you.

Welcome to BYC! I've had all four of these breeds (actually Production Reds are not a breed but a RIR/New Hampshire hybrid) and they are all good layers, especially the Black Australorps. May God bless your flock.
