New to BYC!!!

This is my first time raising chickens. I am getting (2)Cochin Silkie cross & (2) Mottled De'uccle next week! I am waiting for them to hatch now and I can barely stand it!!! I'm so excited!! Are both breeds pretty good layers? Any advice would much appreciated! #newchickenmom

Being bantam breeds, those two breeds tend to not be great layers. But, they'll still lay some eggs and often go broody to hatch them. None of the breeds in your crosses are good layers, but Cochins and Silkies are excellent brooders and mothers and all of the breeds in your crosses are docile and friendly birds.
