New to chicken raising

My poor cat can't eat till the chickens go to bed. The chickens eat his food no matter what it is meatloaf, cat food, pork chop bones.

Yes, chickens eat everything!! So I guess you will have to feed the cat in a place the chickens can't get to.

Hello and Welcome To BYC! X3 chickens will eat about everything. Looks like you will have to find a way or place to feed the cat the chickens can't get to, or just feed the cat after the chickens have gone to bed.

Welcome to BYC! You should be careful about feeding your chickens too many of these treats (what is good for cats is not necessarily good for chickens) as it will not be healthy for them (it's the equivalent of us eating potato chips and candy bars). Commercial feeds are formulated to meet all the nutritional needs of chickens and what they will eat while free ranging (plants, bugs, etc.) are generally healthy for them as well. Plus your cat will be happy as well to see you keep the chickens from his food. ) Good luck with your flock.

I'm assuming you feed your cat outside. Why not teach him to go into a crate and eat, then you let him back out? No chicken interlopers.
