Sounds like you've had plenty of surprises in your flock's make-up. But, as a good "mother hen," you love them regardless of breed.
I had many of the same goals as you when I moved to the country, although I started with mini goats, then chickens and then ducks (added some hair sheep along the way and brought cats and dogs out with me). Hope you get to add all those critters some day.
