Hi Everyone;
My daughter wants to raise chickens for her FFA experience in high school. Currently, our association has rules against chicken, but we are submitting a proposal for up to 12 hens for our flock. A couple of neighbors will agree if the birds are penned 24/7. Any ideas to help us get free range supervised in our backyard be allowed? This land prior to the homes was agricultural land- and we are out of the city limits..

The site is great! I love it! I hope to post pics of babies soon!::)

I don't know much about neighborhood restrictions since I live in the middle of nowhere with no neighbors! But you might want to check out our Chicken Laws and How To Change Them section for any tips and hints on getting things changed around your town, included the neighbors!....

I hope your town changes their laws and you can get your birds soon! When the birds start to lay, take the neighbors over a dozen eggs. Maybe this will soften their hearts. :)

Good luck!

Welcome to BYC, and good luck - Association rules can be tough to get changed.
