New to chickens and haven't a clue!!

I have read, and use this theory, within 3 wks of the same age is fine.

I just got my order of chicks from ideal poultry yesterday and added those babies in with babies I hatched on 6/16. They have done just fine and huddle up together under the heat lamp. No problems whatsoever.

Nice little coop btw!

4-5 wks is about right. I dont know where you live and what your weather is like. I live in west central TX and its HOT here. So I move out when they start getting neck feathers.

Sweet, thanks for sharing your experience.
I mixed batches also.10 day apart and they are fine...............
Alos, I use the sponges...........
If you do not get more hatched, you may want to pick up another chick from the feed store to keep it company.

Oh, Congratulations and

I am so happy that you got that one baby to hatch -- are there any more? If not you may need to find a friend or two -- chickens are "flock" birds -- they need to have friends.

And look at your adorable coop. That baby found just the right Mommy! You are going to love having chickens.

2nd chick hatched about 30 minutes ago! It's very vocal!
To me its toes look a little strange, but everyone says I am
Just paranoid! Hopefully I get more to hatch!
