Hello - Hubby and I moved from City life to Country and began a small farm. A funny farm at that. Before we knew it, we have a horse, 3 cows, 5 goats, 30+ chickens, ducks, 3 dogs, 6 cats and a turkey. We pretty much acquired most of them b/s they were not wanted anymore. Needless to say, I am over run with eggs. I have been scrambling as much as I can and mixing them in with the dog food but I also purchased a Nurture Right 360 Incubator. I figure perhaps I could sale the chicks at the local sale barn this spring. 1st time went exactly as the directions said it would. We didn't experience any issues. Now I've started a new batch and cannot get the humidity in the proper zone. I have tried everything I can think of per the directions which came with the incubator. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? The zone is to be between 50 and 55 humidity, but I cannot get below 61. HELP!

you could try putting a bowl of rice inside to help absorb some of the humidity. but definitely get a backup hygrometer if you don't have one, and double check.

I have that incubator. I use it mostly as a hatcher because of the fabulous viewing!

That high humidity would be death-by-drowning for my chicks, but if it worked for you the first time, then I'd stick with it.

You could try covering part of the water trough with a piece of aluminum foil (or sheet of thin plastic, or similar?) If you are using the turning grid insert, slip it under the gray plastic piece, lay it right on top of the trough walls. Blocking part of the surface area should help. But for just a few percentage points, I wouldn't really worry about it.

And :welcome Glad you joined us!
