(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I get my first hatching eggs about 2 months ago. It all started with a science fair project for my son and I fell in love. We had some major bumps along the way loosing our first 2 batches but were locking down for hatching on our 3rd batch and I hope to be a proud chicken mom in a few days.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Currently 17 eggs at 18 days incubation

(3) What breeds do you have?
I have a mix of eggs including, Icelandics, Black Copper Marans, Barbanters, and who knows what else. Kind of exciting waiting to find out. Its like Christmas morning.

1)I got my chicks last may on the 17th 5 RIR and 3 ameraucana some dogs killed 2(1 of each breed) and I had to get rid of my RIR rooster because he pulled the feathers off of my ameraucana hen's back. A week ago I got one silver laced wyandotte chick, one leghorn, one ameraucana, and a mystery bantam. I am also waiting on my incubator to come in the mail so I will set 3-4 eggs and sell them for my SAE(supervised agriculture experience) in FFA.

2)5 adult hens, and 4 chicks, and 3 eggs

3)RIR, ameraucana, silver laced wyandotte, leghorn, and my mystery bantam maybe serama,

4)google, while looking for coturnix quail for sale in batches less than 50, I only have room for 2 dozen

5)fishing reading, and looking for more CHICKENS!

6) 4 dogs(2 male miniature poodles-popcorn, and his nephew peanut, then our two rescued girls peaches a pure miniature poodle, and princess a poodle shi-tzhu) an egyption mau named tilly, lots of fish, and my chickens.

Happy to announce my first chick has hatched. Its 1 of 3 of my Ameraucanas. What an amazing experience. Im still trying to figure out how to add a photo.
Id like to add how I lost my first 2 batches of eggs: first batch my pig got into. Hes to smart for his own good or anyone elses. My second batch got "cooked" when my son was turning the eggs and he musy have pushed the temp up. So this batch my 3rd sadly (i lost Seramas in the last one) I got an egg turner and wouldnt let anyone never it without me. So for so good. Cant wait to try another next week.
