New to chickens ... any help with gender and breed

I was told this chicken is around 8 weeks old. Can gender be identified? Also breed? It is possible to be a barnyard mutt ...

How old is the chick and hawht breed? Your best bet is to look at the vent properly to sex

The breed is uncertain ... I was told it there was an Americauna (spelling?) rooster and some Rhode Island Red and Americauna hens .. so I am completely lost.

I won't be much help. But are you saying that the rooster was an Ameraucana and the hen was either that or RIR? If so, the hen was not the Ameraucana. The comb and leg color are wrong for that.

As I said ... I'm a newbie to this site ... let's try this again ...

If you take the photos here and blow them up to a 300 + and look at the saddle feathers you will see the beginning of pointed feathers and look at the neck feathers you will se he is maturing fairly fast ........
