Yup, I have been accused of having a "zoo" all my life, including ducks, goats, monkeys, many parrots, dog, cats, turtles, chameleons, hamsters, snakes, ponds, saltwater tanks/seahorses... you name it, I've probably rescued it/fostered it/adopted it/rehabbed it. But never (yet) chickens!

Been obsessed with all wildlife since a young girl and now newly retired and enjoying being able to do even MORE. I work part-time from home, spend 5-7 days at the local animal shelter volunteering, currently have 3 dogs, 3 saltwater tanks, hamster, 2 chameleons, and a pond. SO excited abouting adding chickens to the family!

Welcome to BYC. I have a zoo too. Be careful, chickens and poultry in general are very addictive. :)
I'm already sensing that! I was warned that saltwater tanks were addictive and alas, they weren't kidding. I've had 7 tanks running at a time and BOY do the electric bills go nuts during those times. But hey, different creatures have different requirements, then you need hospital tanks, quarantine tanks, fry-raising tanks, etc. I'm cutting down on the coral tanks and am getting back more into pets that I can actually handle and love on. :)

I never did salt water, but did have 11 different tanks going at one time. I like goldfish which require big tanks. Now I'm down to 3.
