Yes. lots of us have become simply chicken obsessed! OCD....Obsessive Chicken Disorder!

I have never shown chickens before, but you might stop by this section of our forums and do some asking and such. Post some pics and see what others say about your birds.... https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/16188/exhibition-genetics-breeding-to-the-standard-of-perfection

Good luck in the shows and we do welcome you to our flock!

Hi and welcome!
In addition to the great link TwoCrows has provided with regards to showing I would consider some of the resources you already have available to you as an active 4-Her (great program - grew up in it myself and both my kids have carried on in it as well). Do you have any friends who are active in 4-H that participate in the poultry project? Are there members of your club who are active in poultry that might not yet be your friend with whom a shared love of chickens could be a bridge? Have you spoken to your leader and/or the extension agent about the specifics for the poultry project in your locality? Have you spent any time in the poultry barn during the recent years' fairs?
A lot of the details can vary quite a bit from one locality to another as far as how into "show-quality" things go vs. having a happy, healthy project animal, specific breeds that are popular/do well, whether or not hybrids are allowed to be entered, etc. This is where having a good local mentor (or two or three or twelve, lol) can really come in handy for the first couple of years of a new project.

Thanks so much you guys, I'm excited to be on here:))!!! Thanks for the link Twocrows, I'll definitely have to check that out!!!

I have a WONDERFUL leader but she's mostly horse-oreintated, I've been trying to reach out and find more fellow poultry lovers in my area ,

Thanks so much for the help and advice:)!!!!!!!!!!!
