New to Chickens From Australia

Howdy All,

Well this Valentines Day I received a wonderful present from my hubby...an AWESOME chicken coup and 2 beautiful chickens.

I have never owned chickens before but I am a sucker for animals and I am looking forward to their companionship and their nice fresh eggs.

I have an Isa Brown named Nugget and a Sussex named Kiev and they are both just about to begin their laying cycle.

As I have never owned chickens before I am ready to hear the advice and tip from those who have. So if you have any pointers for me, please feel free to share

Thanks for the warm welcomes guys. I did hint that I would like a couple of chickens as pet and the fact that he would get fresh eggs sold him on the idea.

I already have plans to expand our coop (though hubby doesn't know this yet) lol
