Happy to have found this site as I am the new (proud) Mama of five new six week old Buff Orpington baby girls (hopefully). Went to the new TS store and bought a book on raising chickens and a week later, my neighbor conveniently had a sign out on the road "chickens for sale". The husband was gone hunting...so I went chicken shopping! When he got home, the back deck had been enlosed in plastic (for a chicken sauna) and he had five new little chirping gals! Fortunately, he has fallen in love with them and now is researching what kind of chckens he wants to order in the spring to be "his chickens"! this is going to be FUN!
