New to Chickens in New Brunswick

Welcome to BYC!

You will find a lot of good information here. Keep on asking questions and you will get many good answers.

You may also want to read the FAQ below.

I assume you are ordering fully grown pullets? It is a little late in the season to get small chickens. If you want them to lay, you would need to provide over 14 hours of light a day.

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. Another reason for the disagreements between us is that a lot of our disagreements are subjective ones. Like for example, what is the best breed. It's definitely the Black Australorp (just ask TwoCrows and myself). :o) Or maybe it's the Buff Orpington (just ask Mountain Peeps). :o) Of course it could be the Wyandotte (just ask Wyandottes7). :o) Whose answer is correct? All of them as this is a subjective thing that relates to each individual's preference. On the purely objective issues, I think you'll find us in agreement. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have (objective or subjective). :o) We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your Barred Rocks. Maybe they will become your favorite breed. :o)
