New to chickens, need help with breed.

You can breed sex link hens to any breed of rooster and get chicks. The chicks will not be sex linked. But the Pullets will lay lots of brown eggs. All of the chicks will probably grow up to look very similar to their mother.

Yep, the darker one in the front was Caramel. She is the one we lost.
So when you said that you cannot make anymore sex links with a sex link parent, does that mean that the parent is sterile? Or they just wont be sex link? Just curious. And I think it's pretty cool that we ended up with a rooster. I bet he is going to be even more beautiful when he is fully grown. I cant wait to see how he turns out!

No. He will not be sterile. I meant that you just can't make more sexlinked chicks with a sexlinked parent, i.e. a red sexlink x red sexlink will not make more red sexlinks. Also a red sexlink crossed with another breed also won't make another sexlink. And Caramel was a cute name Yeah, I would be interested to see how he turns out too.
