Ever use a coop door like this ?
(back before telephones were invented I bet you did)

Hubby built and framed our chicken door himself so won't allow an auto door on it as he'd have to remove his. He does say he'll do one in a couple of years when we're going camping more often so we don't belabor our farmer across the road to have to run over here twice a day for weeks. Our feeders and waterers would last them minimally two weeks to a month, so she'd just have to come over maybe once a week to check them is all. Knowing her, she'd still comeover daily just to say "hi" to them as she loves our silkies. She's got Brahmas so quite the comparison. :)

Surely she'd come over daily to gather eggs?

She would. She doesn't need them nor want them but sells her own so maybe she'd just eat these ones lol.

Of the higher quality birds' breeding pens, once those are all filled with breeding stock, I'd pay her to collect those and save them for me. :)
