New to chickens...normal chick behavior?

First time chicken momma here! We are letting our girls spend a little time each day out in their new house.
I don’t think they did this in the brooding pen we had but it was much smaller and didn’t have any books or crannies.
it’s like they are fighting to be in the corner. They keep on stepping and jumping over each other.

How old are they and do you have a heat lamp in there
 
I see that with my ducklings every time I approach they dive for cover.
I would say it is normal.

Hiding behind the makeshift feed dish.
As soon as I stepped away they came out.

Everything in the new giant coop is new....new is terrifying.
