My thinking is that if yu ever wanted to sell it would be harder to sell a mix. Also mixed breeds don't breed true so it'd be a mix of a mix. But if you plan on keeping them and want colors and diff. shapes that cool too. I have 2, soon to be 4 RIR and Black auterlorp (sp) mixes that are VERY sweet and pretty. One of them looks like a speckled sussex and the other looks like a buff brahma. (I know what they really are though) I got them from a trade, that would be the only reason I'd have mixes when I myself got my flock this march.
